The Great Passage
The development of a new dictionary titled *The Great Passage* is underway. Mitsuya Majime, originally from the sales department of publisher Genbu Shōbō, is recruited by Kouhei Araki, a senior editor in the dictionary department who is nearing retirement. The department is informally referred to within the company as the "money-eating insect," but Mitsuya applies his perseverance and deep affection for words in an effort to become a skilled editor. Despite his social difficulties, Mitsuya works alongside Masashi Nishioka, a colleague who is more articulate and expressive.
