The House on the Slope
Yamazaki Risako lives with her husband, Yoichiro, and their three-year-old daughter, Fumika. One day, she receives a court notification informing her that she has been selected as an alternate juror in a high-profile criminal case. The defendant is Ando Mizuho, a full-time housewife of the same age as Risako, who is on trial for the death of her eight-month-old daughter, which occurred when Mizuho dropped the infant into a bathtub. As a mother, Risako initially feels repulsed by Mizuho's alleged act of killing her own child. However, as the trial begins, Mizuho's circumstances begin to mirror Risako's own past, stirring up confusing and repressed emotions within her.
