The Jeremy Kyle Show
The Jeremy Kyle Show is a British daytime television tabloid talk show hosted by Jeremy Kyle. It has aired on ITV since 4 July 2005. The program is produced by ITV Studios and is broadcast each weekday. It was launched as a replacement for Trisha Goddard's chat show, which had been relocated to Five. The format centers on confrontations in which guests seek to address significant issues in their lives with others, including topics such as family, relationships, sex, drugs, alcohol, and other personal matters. Guests often display strong emotions such as anger and distress, and Kyle frequently adopts a firm stance toward those he perceives as having acted in morally questionable or irresponsible ways, emphasizing traditional family values. The show has drawn both criticism and parody in newspapers and on television, and was once described as "human bear-baiting" by a Manchester District Judge during a prosecution following a violent incident involving guests on the program. The show's 1,000th episode was broadcast on Thursday 18 March 2010. In 2012, the program returned from its Christmas break with a new set.
