The Joy of Painting
*The Joy of Painting* was an American television series hosted by painter Bob Ross, in which he taught viewers techniques for landscape oil painting. While Ross often completed a painting within half an hour, the show's purpose was not to promote speed painting, but rather to demonstrate specific techniques within the time frame of the program. The series premiered on January 11, 1983, and concluded on May 17, 1994, a year before Ross's death.
