Ariel and her friends take on a babysitting job for mischievous baby mertwins, whose antics lead to unexpected complications for Ariel.

A lonely dragon sends a message in a bottle, which is discovered by Ariel. She visits him, and he decides to come to her home, but King Triton refuses to approve the visit until the dragon helps save them from dangerous sea creatures.

Ariel discovers a human-made bracelet and becomes unable to remove it after putting it on. Aware that her father disapproves of human objects, she avoids returning home and sets out to find a way to take it off.

King Triton and the people of Atlantica celebrate the return of their hero, Apollo, whose legendary act of breaking a powerful triton during a battle with the Octipins 20 years earlier saved their kingdom. Ariel and Flounder learn the story from Triton before Apollo arrives and embarks on a new adventure with them. However, they soon discover his original victory was accidental, and when Ursula revives the Octipins with eight magical tritons, Apollo must prove himself a true hero once more.

Ariel accidentally transforms Flounder into a howling hairfish during an adventure. A magical fish suggests the cure is being surrounded by silver, which is unavailable underwater, so Ariel uses silverfish as a substitute.

Ariel shares her collection of human artifacts with Gabriella, who admires them, but Ursula discovers the treasures and uses dark magic to corrupt them, threatening Atlantica.

The son of the Evil Manta seeks to emulate his father's villainy, though he displays hints of a kinder nature. Ariel encounters him and attempts to nurture the goodness within him.
