The Prisoner

A former secret agent, having recently resigned, awakens in an enigmatic and surreal prison called The Village, from which escape seems nearly impossible.

A new Number 8, Nadia, arrives in The Village, and she joins forces with Number 6 to devise a plan to escape.

Number 2 suspects that Number 6 resigned in order to betray the organization and uses dream manipulation to identify which of three potential allies Number 6 may have been in contact with.

Number 6 enters the political arena by challenging for the position of Number 2, setting off a tense and strategic campaign within the controlled society of the Village.

Number Six is reprogrammed with a new identity as Number Twelve and is tasked by Number Two to impersonate the original Number Six. However, the current Number Six behaves more like the original Number Twelve than he does.

The Village becomes fascinated with a rapid learning technique, but Number 6 suspects Number 2 is using it to manipulate and control the population.

Number 6 discovers the Village empty and abandoned, prompting confusion and concern over what has become of its inhabitants.

Number 6 discovers a corpse with a radio on the beach and attempts to use it to signal for rescue after returning the body to the ocean.

Number 6 devises a new escape strategy from the Village, inspired by observing a life-sized chess game where people represent the pieces. With the help of fellow prisoners, he begins to put his plan into motion.

Number 6 seeks vengeance against a cruel Number 2 following his role in the death of another villager.

Number Six learns of a plan to assassinate Number Two, only to discover that the new Number Two is the one orchestrating the attack against the outgoing leader.

Number 6 is involved in a fight and is subsequently declared "unmutual," leading to a process designed to erase his identity and reprogram him into conformity.

Number 6 awakens in a new body, believing himself to still be in London, and struggles to prove his identity to his colleagues. Unable to gain their trust, he travels to Austria in search of the only person who might help him—someone that Number 2 has deliberately directed him to find.

Number 6 is transported to a surreal Wild West setting where his captivity takes on new and unexpected forms.

Number 6 returns to London to pursue a rogue scientist who is shielded by his dangerous, violent daughter.

After previous methods to subdue Number 6 have failed, Number 2 proposes a deadly game of survival between them.

Number 6 observes the trials of Numbers 2 and 48 and meets with the President of the Assembly, then takes advantage of the ensuing disorder to escape.
