The Teachers

Sergei, father of Masha and Tanya, holds the position of Deputy Minister for Education and frequently engages in relationships with new women, some of whom are the same age as his daughters. Masha, the youngest daughter, is a school teacher and an idealist who firmly opposes her father's attempts to assist her career, preferring to achieve success independently. Tanya, the older daughter, works at an institute and readily uses her father's connections to advance her position. She also accepts bribes from the parents of her less motivated students. Tanya pushes boundaries by engaging in a series of affairs with various men, seemingly to cope with an inner emptiness.
