Ji Shu is a young writer known for his popular novels. His works are widely appreciated by fans, but he himself struggles with emotional apathy and a pessimistic outlook. This mindset is reflected in his novels, which often end in tragedy, making him a quintessential BE (bad ending) writer. In contrast, Song Yan Qi is an optimistic planner of films and drama series who favors happy ending (HE) stories. She is interested in adapting one of Ji Shu’s novels for the screen but wants to ensure the story concludes on a positive note—something Ji Shu is unwilling to accept. Their lives become upended when they are transported into the world of Ji Shu’s novel. As they experience the lives of the characters firsthand, they begin to rewrite the story and develop feelings for each other. Whether their own story ends in happiness or sorrow remains to be seen.
