Riku Haruma begins high school uncertain about his future. He watches students playing on the ground, imitating monsters by jumping high and running fast, and decides to join in. There, he sees Akira Kariya playing rugby, a sport Riku once loved but abandoned due to his physical limitations. As Akira plays roughly, Riku offers him unsolicited advice. This moment reignites Riku's fading passion for the sport, and he begins to feel a renewed sense of purpose.
