Synopsis
Ex-soldiers working on palace construction go on strike, feeling mistreated, and their protest prompts discussions about mediation. Despite advice from Jacques, Louis refuses to accept Philippe's help, driven by jealousy. Meanwhile, Louis's harsh behavior extends to keeping Louise de la Vallière at court and ignoring the schemes of Athenais and Cassel. He eventually enlists Philippe to end the strike, after which Philippe begins making plans to leave Versailles.
