After four years of conflict, the Great War came to an end, and the fractured continent of Telesis began to recover. Violet Evergarden, a young girl trained to destroy enemy lines, was caught in the war's final battles and left maimed and hospitalized. She was left with only a message from the person she cherished most, though she did not understand its meaning. As she healed, Violet began a new life at CH Postal Services after a disagreement with her new guardian family. There, she encountered an "Auto Memory Doll," a scribe who transcribes people's thoughts and emotions into written words. Inspired by this, Violet took up the role of an Auto Memory Doll, a profession that would lead her on a journey that would change the lives of her clients and, in turn, help her discover herself.
