Wild Republic

Set against the rugged terrain at the base of the Alps, a group of young offenders participates in an experimental educational program aimed at their rehabilitation. When one of the participants is suddenly and violently killed, the group is thrust into a difficult dilemma. With uncertainty surrounding the circumstances of the death, they must choose between waiting for the authorities to arrive and conduct an investigation or taking matters into their own hands and fleeing. Though the youths come from different backgrounds, they share a common distrust of the authorities, stemming from past negative experiences. Unable to determine who among them is responsible for the death, they decide to run. They head into the mountains, ascending the highest peaks of the Alps. Their situation appears dire until they discover a complex cave system, offering them shelter from the elements and from those pursuing them.
