Authorities initially suspect the death is a "lonely death," meaning the woman died alone without being noticed for an extended period. However, Detective Ayano is skeptical of this conclusion. The behavior of the cats appears unusual, as they do not seem to be house-trained, which raises questions about whether they were actually owned by the deceased. Investigating further, Detective Ayano discovers a bankbook belonging to Suzuki Yoko inside an empty fishbowl, indicating that the dead woman is 36-year-old Yoko Suzuki.
