Synopsis

Using previously unseen nuclear test footage, the documentary travels to ten former nuclear testing sites to examine their history, the physical changes caused by the tests, and their current conditions. The film visits the infamous Nevada Test Site, recognized as the most bombed location on Earth, where over 900 nuclear explosions were conducted across an area larger than the state of Rhode Island. Once classified as top secret, these locations are now accessible through this 60th Anniversary Diamond Edition of *Atomic Journeys: Welcome to Ground Zero*. The film preserves the legacy of America’s nuclear testing program, highlighting the delicate balance between human progress and environmental destruction. Understanding the true history of these Ground Zero sites offers a new perspective on their lasting impact.

How many hands made this film

The scale of the collaboration

Principal cast & crew: 7

These are the principals we have on file — the full crew ran to the hundreds. Every film this size was made by far more hands than any credits list ever names.

Why a floor?

This is a minimum, not a total. We only count the credits we’ve captured so far, and coverage is uneven — a blockbuster might show a few hundred names while another of the same size shows a couple dozen. The real crews all ran into the thousands. The number here only grows as full credits are enriched — so we frame it as a floor, never a headcount.
