Bang the Drum Slowly

Synopsis
The film follows a New York professional baseball team and two of its players. Henry Wiggen is the team's star pitcher, while Bruce Pearson is the regular, everyday catcher who, though not the team's top player, is well-liked by his teammates. During the off-season, Bruce discovers he is terminally ill, and Henry, his only true friend, vows to be there for him during his final season with the club. Over the course of the season, Henry and his teammates navigate the challenges of Bruce's illness, striving to make his last year with the team a memorable one.
