Synopsis

In the late 1950s and early 1960s, artist Walter Keane gains widespread fame and success for his portraits of saucer-eyed waifs. However, few are aware that his wife, Margaret, is the actual painter behind the work. Margaret becomes horrified upon discovering that Walter is presenting her paintings as his own, but she is too timid to challenge him openly. The truth is eventually revealed after the Keanes' marriage ends and a subsequent lawsuit is filed.
