Stoner duo Cheech and Chong scramble to fund their lives after losing a job, battling bureaucratic roadblocks and escalating mayhem on the streets of Los Angeles as they hunt for any quick cash.

Synopsis
Cheech and Chong, perpetually under the influence, race through Los Angeles, stirring up chaos in their wake. When Cheech loses his job, the pair visits the welfare office, where Cheech's girlfriend, Donna, is employed, hoping to collect unemployment benefits. Instead, they are sent back to the streets, forced to find alternative means of income. The situation becomes even more chaotic with the arrival of Cheech's cousin, "Red" Mendoza.
