Biography

William King Baggot was an American actor, film director, and screenwriter who achieved international recognition during the silent film era. He was the first leading man in America to be individually publicized and was frequently referred to as "King of the Movies," "The Most Photographed Man in the World," and "The Man Whose Face Is as Familiar as the Man in the Moon." Baggot's prominence in early cinema made him a household name and a pioneer in the film industry.
