Synopsis

Thirty years ago, aliens arrive on Earth not to conquer or offer assistance, but to seek refuge from their dying planet. Isolated from humans in an area of South Africa known as District 9, the aliens are overseen by the Multi-National United, an organization more interested in exploiting their advanced technology than in their well-being. When a company field agent becomes infected with a mysterious virus that begins to change his DNA, he finds himself with only one option for shelter: District 9.
