Synopsis
John Hughes played a defining role in shaping the teen movie genre throughout the 1980s, resonating with not only the teens of that era but also with subsequent generations. In 1991, he ceased directing and largely withdrew from public life, much like J.D. Salinger. In 2008, a group of young Canadian filmmakers began working on a documentary about Hughes, with the goal of securing an interview, which would have been his first since 1999.
