Biography
Roger Joseph Ebert was an influential American film critic, journalist, and author, best known for his work with the *Chicago Sun-Times* from 1967 until his death in 2013. Writing in an accessible, engaging style, Ebert brought complex cinematic ideas to a broad audience and championed both mainstream and independent films. He was a vocal advocate for directors such as Martin Scorsese, Werner Herzog, and Spike Lee, helping to elevate their profiles among general viewers.
