Clint Eastwood was born on May 31, 1930, in Lockport, New York. He moved to California as a teenager and began his career in the film industry as a teenager, working as a truck driver and later as a studio hand at Paramount Pictures. In the early 1960s, Eastwood gained attention for his role as Rowdy Yates in the television series *Rawhide*, which aired from 1959 to 1965. His breakout role came in 1964 with the film *A Fistful of Dollars*, the first in a trilogy of *Dollars* films that established him as a major Western star. Eastwood transitioned into directing in the 1970s, beginning with *Play Misty with Me* (1971), which he also starred in. He became known for his work as both a director and an actor, often portraying tough, introspective characters. In the 1980s and 1990s, Eastwood continued to direct and act in a variety of films, including *The Good, the Bad and the Ugly* (1966), *Dirty Harry* (1971), *Sudden Impact* (1983), and *Unforgiven* (1992), the latter of which won the Academy Award for Best Picture. By the time of the release of *Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil* in 1997, Eastwood had become one of the most influential and respected figures in Hollywood, known for his distinctive directorial style and his ability to blend action, drama, and personal storytelling.
