Synopsis

In the summer of 1863, General Robert E. Lee led the Confederate Army of Northern Virginia into Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, with the objective of advancing toward Washington, D.C. The Union Army of the Potomac, commanded by General George G. Meade, established a defensive position to oppose the Confederate forces in what became the decisive battle of the American Civil War.
