Hosted by actor Van Johnson, the film includes movie clips, newsreel footage and interviews with stars of that halcyon era such as Vivian Blaine, Douglas Fairbanks Jr., Roddy McDowall, Jackie Cooper, Gloria DeHaven and Tony Randall.
