Houdini

Harry Houdini, born Erik Weisz on March 24, 1874, in Budapest, Hungary, was a renowned escape artist and magician known for his daring prison breaks, water tank escapes, and other death-defying acts. He emigrated to the United States with his family in 1878 and later changed his name to Harry Houdini, inspired by French illusionist Jean-Eugène Robert-Houdin. Houdini began performing magic as a young man, and by the 1890s, he had developed his own style, combining sleight of hand with theatrical presentation. His career took off in the early 20th century, and he became a global sensation, performing in major cities across the world. In addition to his stage performances, Houdini was also a skilled debunker of spiritualist frauds, using his knowledge of magic to expose fake mediums. He died on October 31, 1926, in Detroit, Michigan, at the age of 52, due to complications from an abdominal infection.
