Islands
Synopsis
Ivan, an immigrant drifting in search of work and dignity, arrives on an Italian island only to face cruelty and betrayal. As his hope begins to fade, he finds refuge with Martina, a quiet woman who tends bees, and Father Enzo, a gruff priest whose generous heart is concealed beneath bitterness and the effects of a stroke. As Ivan becomes part of their fragile household, he brings light to Enzo’s difficult days and gradually earns Martina’s trust. However, in a town suspicious of outsiders and plagued by family tensions over land and legacy, achieving harmony proves difficult.
