Love and Duty
Synopsis
Ollie, a love-struck private, is subjected to harsh treatment by his unsympathetic lieutenant at reveille. The regiment's colonel hopes to arrange a marriage between his daughter and the lieutenant, but the daughter is instead smitten with Hardy, a man with a round face who is himself in love with someone else. Hardy is imprisoned for disobeying orders, later escaping with the help of his sweetheart and a minor act of physical force when he uses his large stomach to bump the guard. The film concludes with a chase scene in which all characters achieve their desires.
