Synopsis

When a government representative announces his intention to reunite an orphaned orca with his pod by transporting him hundreds of miles over dry land, the Mowachaht-Muchalaht First Nations Band, which believes the spirit of their late chief resides in the ocean mammal, takes action to oppose the controversial plan. As the community becomes increasingly divided over how to proceed, a young Indigenous boy grapples with his own identity, while the newly appointed Band chief, Mike Maquinna, faces a trial by fire that could define his future.
