Synopsis

Marty is a 34-year-old butcher living in the Bronx with his mother and remains unmarried. Though good-natured, he is socially awkward and frequently pressured by family and friends to marry, to which he has gradually accepted his status as a bachelor. He meets Clara, an unattractive schoolteacher, and after recognizing an emotional connection, he promises to call her, though his family and friends attempt to dissuade him.
