Mr. Blabbermouth!
Synopsis
Following Japan's attack on Pearl Harbor, rumors spread widely in America about the size and capabilities of Japan's armed forces and its readiness to wage war against the United States. In the first part of this film, animation is used to counter these rumors by demonstrating that the U.S. possessed greater quantities of raw materials and a larger fleet of fighting ships. The narrator also warns viewers against spreading rumors—often started by enemy infiltrators to incite fear and division—and urges them not to believe everything they read in the newspapers. Just because "they say" something, the film emphasizes, does not make it true.
