Biography

Adolf Hitler was an Austrian-born German politician who served as the dictator of Germany during the Nazi era from 1933 until his death in 1945. As the leader of the Nazi Party, he became chancellor in 1933 and assumed the title of Führer und Reichskanzler in 1934. Under his leadership, Germany invaded Poland on September 1, 1939, triggering the outbreak of World War II. Hitler played a central role in directing German military operations during the war and was a key figure in the Holocaust, the genocide that resulted in the deaths of approximately six million Jews, as well as millions of other victims.
