Synopsis
In the seemingly respectable New England community of Peyton Place, shopkeeper Constance McKenzie attempts to atone for a past indiscretion—resulting in her illegitimate daughter, Allison—by adopting a chaste and prudish attitude toward all matters sexual. Despite her efforts, Constance finds herself drawn to the handsome new teacher, Michael Rossi. Meanwhile, the restless Allison, who aspires to the carefree lifestyle of the town's "fast girl," Betty Anderson, genuinely falls in love with the troubled mama's boy, Norman Page.
