Synopsis
Will Plunkett and Captain James Macleane, two men from opposing ends of 18th-century English society, form a gentlemen's agreement to rob the aristocracy of their possessions. Combining Plunkett's criminal expertise with Macleane's social connections, they become known as "The Gentlemen Highwaymen." However, their partnership is complicated when they rob Lord Chief Justice Gibson's carriage and Macleane becomes infatuated with Gibson's niece, Lady Rebecca Gibson, a woman of both beauty and intelligence. Meanwhile, Thief Taker General Chance, who also has an interest in Rebecca, closes in on the pair, threatening to expose their criminal activities.
