Synopsis

*REM Live* is a live album by R.E.M., recorded at the Point Theatre in Dublin on February 26 and 27, 2005, during the final nights of the winter European leg of the *Around the World Tour*, which promoted their thirteenth studio album, *Around the Sun*, released in late 2004. The album was released in the United Kingdom on October 15, 2007, and in the United States the following day as a two-compact disc audio set and a DVD. A triple vinyl version was issued in February 2008. The performance was filmed by Blue Leach, the same director responsible for Depeche Mode's DVD *Touring the Angel: Live in Milan*. *REM Live* includes rare performances of "I Took Your Name" from the 1994 album *Monster* and "Ascent of Man" from *Around the Sun*, as well as the previously unreleased track "I'm Gonna DJ," a studio version of which later appeared on the band's 2008 album *Accelerate*. On September 26, 2007, R.E.M. launched *REM Live Zine* to collect fan reviews and promote the album.
