Synopsis

In a live recording at Hammersmith Apollo, Russell explores the values of heroes and leaders. He introduces 'Messiah Complex,' a condition in which individuals believe they may be the messiah. He questions whether Jesus, Che Guevara, Gandhi, Malcolm X, and Hitler might have had it. These figures have significantly shaped lives and influenced thought. Their images are frequently used to symbolize ideas that often have little to do with them. Russell asks whether Gandhi would support Apple, if Che Guevara would endorse Madonna, and if Jesus would support Christianity. He concludes that such associations are largely meaningless, urging the audience to stop voting, ignore advertising, seek the transcendent within themselves and others, and, on their way out, to kick over some bins. The show also includes sexual content.

How many hands made this film

The scale of the collaboration

Principal cast & crew: 3

These are the principals we have on file — the full crew ran to the hundreds. Every film this size was made by far more hands than any credits list ever names.

Why a floor?

This is a minimum, not a total. We only count the credits we’ve captured so far, and coverage is uneven — a blockbuster might show a few hundred names while another of the same size shows a couple dozen. The real crews all ran into the thousands. The number here only grows as full credits are enriched — so we frame it as a floor, never a headcount.
