Synopsis
Following World War II, a woman refuses to accept that her husband, who disappeared on the Russian front, is dead. The narrative includes flashbacks that depict their brief courtship and marriage. Years later, she travels to Russia carrying his photograph, intent on locating him, and confronts what she ultimately discovers.
