“Was His Face Red . . . And His Nose, Too ! when the bandits took the money . . . and the SAFE !”
Synopsis
Egbert Sousé becomes an unexpected hero when a bank robber falls over a bench he is occupying. As a result, he is regarded as brave and is given a job as a bank guard. Shortly after, he is approached by the charlatan J. Frothingham Waterbury, who tries to convince him to buy shares in a mining company. Egbert persuades teller Og Oggilby to lend him money from the bank, with the promise that it will be repaid once the scheme succeeds. However, bank inspector Snoopington soon arrives unexpectedly.
