Synopsis
When the space shuttle *Challenger* exploded in 1986, it became one of the most shocking events in the history of American spaceflight. The deaths of seven astronauts, including Christa McAuliffe, the first teacher selected for space travel, were witnessed live on television by millions. What proved even more shocking was the possibility that the cause of the disaster might never be determined. *The Challenger* recounts how Richard Feynman, one of America's most renowned scientists, played a key role in uncovering the cause of a tragedy that deeply shocked the nation.
