Synopsis

The first crew of the TARDIS arrives in a petrified forest on an alien planet. Determined to explore, the Doctor leads his companions into a metal city, where they encounter danger at every turn and face what becomes his deadliest enemy—the mutant Daleks. This marks the first appearance of the Daleks, a recurring and iconic foe in the series. Originally broadcast from December 1963 to February 1964, the seven original episodes of this story have been reimagined with a modern presentation. The episodes have been colourised, reassembled into a 75-minute feature, and enhanced with new sound design and a new score composed by Mark Ayres. The updated version preserves the original story while presenting it in a visually and aurally refreshed format.

How many hands made this film

The scale of the collaboration

Principal cast & crew: 14

These are the principals we have on file — the full crew ran to the hundreds. Every film this size was made by far more hands than any credits list ever names.

Why a floor?

This is a minimum, not a total. We only count the credits we’ve captured so far, and coverage is uneven — a blockbuster might show a few hundred names while another of the same size shows a couple dozen. The real crews all ran into the thousands. The number here only grows as full credits are enriched — so we frame it as a floor, never a headcount.
