The Placebo Effect
Synopsis
Armin Glaser, a lieutenant in the Stasi, lives with his wife Marie and daughter Kati in Karl-Marx-Stadt. When Kati falls ill, they entrust her care to Dr. Sigurd. However, Armin becomes increasingly suspicious of the treatment process and uses his position in the Stasi to investigate further. As he uncovers more information, his confidence in the official narrative wanes. He begins to suspect that the GDR is permitting West German pharmaceutical companies to conduct drug trials on East German clinic patients.
