Synopsis
This drama, based on a real-life story, follows a small group of Allied soldiers captured by the Japanese in Burma. Among the imprisoned military officers are Capt. Ernest Gordon, Lt. Jim Reardon, and Maj. Ian Campbell, who endure regular beatings and food deprivation. While Campbell favors rebellion and escape, Gordon adopts a more stoic approach, an attitude that ultimately proves to be deeply resonant.
