To the Future

Paz Fábrega, the first Costa Rican filmmaker to win a VPRO Tiger Award at the Rotterdam Film Festival in 2010, has secured additional funding for her upcoming fourth feature, 'To the Future' ('Al Futuro'). The funding comes from Uruguay's PUA (Uruguayan Audiovisual Program), facilitated by co-producer Federico Moreira from La Mayor Cine. Fábrega is set to present the project at the upcoming ECAM Forum, with Spain's Edna Cinema also involved in the co-production. Fábrega's earlier work, 'Cold Water of the Sea' ('Agua fria de mar'), earned her international recognition and marked a milestone for Costa Rican cinema. The new project signals continued support for her creative vision and regional collaboration in Latin American filmmaking.
