Torment
Synopsis
Jan-Erik Widgren encounters Bertha Olsson, a woman battling alcoholism. Although Bertha is already involved with Caligula, Jan-Erik’s ruthless teacher, she starts a relationship with Jan-Erik regardless. When Caligula discovers the affair between Jan-Erik and Bertha, he begins to subject his student to psychological torment. He directs his most severe cruelty toward Bertha, leading to a tragic outcome.
