Biography
Sven Erik Alf Sjöberg was a Swedish theatre and film director who worked extensively in both stage and cinema. He gained international recognition for his film adaptations of classic plays, especially *Torment* and *Miss Julie*. *Torment*, released in 1946, won him the Grand Prix du Festival at the Cannes Film Festival. He received the same award again in 1951 for *Miss Julie*, further solidifying his status as a notable figure in Swedish cinema.
