Synopsis
*Wet Gold* follows Laura, a young woman working as a waitress in a café, who encounters Sampson, a drunken elderly man who regales her with tales of a sunken ship carrying millions in gold. Despite her boyfriend, Barnes, dismissing Sampson's stories as fabrications, Laura becomes convinced of their truth after finding a newspaper article in a library that corroborates Sampson's account. She then persuades Barnes, Sampson, and a dive shop owner named Keating to join her in searching for the treasure. They set out from Key West aboard the Baker's boat, which Barnes was supposed to be tending to. As Keating develops a romantic interest in Laura, Barnes grows uneasy. After a successful dive, they find the gold, but their discovery begins to alter their personalities.
