When the Bough Breaks

A Los Angeles psychiatrist provides testimony for the prosecution in the trial of a man accused of child molestation. Later, the defendant, who was released on bail, is discovered dead in the psychiatrist's office, seemingly a suicide. Disturbed by the incident, the psychiatrist relocates to the mountains outside Los Angeles. Shortly after, a detective he knows seeks his assistance: a seven-year-old girl witnessed the murder of both her parents but is too traumatized to recall any details, and the detective hopes the psychiatrist can help her recover her memory. As they work together, the doctor and the detective uncover possible connections between the parents' murder, the pedophile's "suicide," and a secretive group of wealthy and influential pedophiles. They also realize that the child is not the only one at risk.
