Biography
Edward Bridge Danson III is an American actor best known for his role as Sam Malone on the NBC sitcom *Cheers*, which aired from 1982 to 1993. His performance earned him two Primetime Emmy Awards and two Golden Globe Awards. Danson later received Emmy nominations for his roles in the FX legal drama *Damages* (2007–2010) and the NBC comedy *The Good Place* (2016–2020). In 2025, he was honored with the Carol Burnett Award.
