Synopsis
Joe, a 14-year-old boy and only child of Jeanette and Jerry, lives with his family in a small town in 1960s Montana. Jeanette is a housewife, and Jerry is a golf professional. Close to the Canadian border, an uncontrolled forest fire is spreading. When Jerry loses his job and with it his sense of purpose, he decides to join the effort to fight the fire, leaving his wife and son to manage on their own.
