Biography

Adam Charles Clayton is an English-Irish musician best known as the bass guitarist of the rock band U2. He was born in Oxfordshire, England, and moved with his family to Malahide, County Dublin, Ireland in 1965 at the age of five. Clayton attended Mount Temple Comprehensive School, where he met future bandmates and co-founded U2 in 1976. As a founding member, he has remained a consistent presence in the band's musical career, contributing to all of their studio albums since the group's formation.
