Biography

Alan Cumming is a Scottish actor, filmmaker, and presenter known for his work on stage and screen. He has received numerous awards, including a BAFTA, five Emmys, and two Tony Awards. Cumming won a Laurence Olivier Award for Best Comedy Performance for his role in *Accidental Death of an Anarchist* (1991) and was also nominated for *The Conquest of the South Pole* (1988), *La Bête* (1992), and *Cabaret* (1994). He earned a Tony Award for Best Actor in a Musical for his performance as the Emcee in the Broadway revival of *Cabaret* (1998). Other notable stage roles include *Design for Living* (2001) and *Macbeth* (2013).
